Friends of Configuration Management!
In september 2024 we arranged a CM Forum in Malmö on the topic “The art of managing configuration change”. A variety of challenges and approaches to meet those challenges was presented. A general conclusion among the participants and facilitators was that there is alot more to explore and discuss. For this reason we invite you all, both you who were there and you who want to catch up, to revisit the theme and expand the discussion.
We propose the following starting points for presentations and workshop:
- What are the major challenges when adressing configuration change and how do we overcome them?
- What needs to be considered when establishing a change control process? Are there any common pitfalls to be aware of?
- How are we relating change control to baseline establishment?
- PLE & Platform Engineering: How are we changing configurations items that are re-used in several product variants?
- What type of support can AI provide to the art of managing configuration change?

Tentative program
09:00 – Doors are opened. Early attendees can arrive at this time.
09:30 – Introduction of the day and the change management subject.
10:00 – Presentations and workshop part 1
12:00 – Lunch break (note – lunch is on your own tab)
13:00 – Presentations and workshop part 2.
15:30 – Summary and next steps.
16:30 – End of day
After the event, we intend to go out for dinner, let us know if you want to join (on you own tab).
